EPD (Environmental Product Declaration)

The Environmental Product Declaration is a voluntary environmental product certification that provides life cycle information in accordance with ISO 14025. The EPD has an international value and it is verified by an independent and accredited third party that guarantees its validity and can be applied to any type of product.

The certification, in addition to providing greater awareness to the company itself, allows to:

  • communicate to suppliers and customers the environmental characteristics of the product, through the use of sectoral product rules (called Pcrs) that allow an objective comparison of the results of two different Epds.
  • evaluate the impact of the resources consumed through the analysis of the Life Cycle Assessment or LCA of the product, taking into consideration all stages, ranging from the extraction of raw materials, transport, packaging, production, sale, up to the disposal of waste related to the end of life of the product itself.

FAQ

Does the EPD tell me when my company is improving in terms of environmental parameters?

No, the EPD is a photograph of the current state, it does not provide any indication of the improvement in progress, we have ZEROCARBONTARGET for it. Anyway, EPD is an excellent starting point to know the data of the year that interests us.

Is it possible to apply the EPD to a site?

No, the EPD is exclusively a product environmental declaration.

Since the EPD also contains the CO2 indicator, can I certify myself with this scheme also on Carbon Footprint?

No, EPD and CFP are two different regulations, but having already developed a whole set of information for the EPD, will facilitate the work of CFP certification.

Is AlensSwiss able to provide customer support throughout the country?

Each activity is managed by a Project Coordinator , who will be the interface of the Customer; that is a technical profile with a wide experience on the topic of interest. We never use call centers, only qualified personnel.
